Lianghong Ke was born in Guangdong,China. He is a senior at Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is his second year in the Mid-Pacific School of the Arts Media Art Certificate Program. He spent last year experimenting with photography and he is going to continue with photography this year. He is interested in making all kinds of artwork that relates to photography and he just keep experimenting and exploring. He is interested in making an impact to the world and he is trying to deliver his message to the world through photography. He is inspired by his teachers to make art because that is what he is passionate.

JT Kim
11th Grade
Speciality:  Film

Joshua-Taylor Kim was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 16th, 2001. He is a junior at Mid-Pacific where he is currently undergoing his second year in the Mid-Pacific School of the Arts Media Art Certificate Program. Last year, he explored portrait and still frame photography, and is interested in indulging into the film side of the spectrum this year.

JT is interested in creating short films with a greater purpose/take away involved in it. He is inspired by Robert Zemeckis and his work in both the movies “Forest Gump”and “Allied”, as he one day aspires to create such a beautiful meaning behind his storied as Zemeckis does.

Ki Ricci
12th Grade
Speciality:  Game Design

Ki Ricci was born in Cape Cod, Massachusetts but was raised in Kailua, Hawaii. He’s a senior at Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is currently his second year in the MPI Art Certificate Program. Ki also continues to indulge in artwork relating to his hobby: Video games.

If Ki isn’t drawing, he’s reading and playing video games to spark any creative ideas that come his way. He currently enjoys playing Fire Emblem, PUBG and any Pokemon game he decides to spend time on.

His favorite artist is Ayami Kojima, who worked on the art for the Castlevania series while his favorite game dev is ZUN, the mastermind behind the Touhou Project series.

Skyler Sybounmy

Speciality:  Game Design

Skyler Sybounmy is a Junior at Mid-Pacific and is interested in 3D animation and modeling.  His favorite artist is Ayami Kojima, who worked on the art for the Castlevania series while his favorite game dev is ZUN, the mastermind behind the Touhou Project series.

Brandon Tanaka
11th Grade
Speciality:  Film

randon Tanaka was born in Honolulu Hawaii. He is in 11th grade at Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu Hawaii. This is his second year in the Mid-pacific school of the arts media art certificate program. Last year he continued to work on portrait photography, and now he is experimenting with film making.

He is interested in creating more film ideas that better explain the characteristics and feelings of the main protagonist.

The rapidly evolving world around Brandon inspires him to create films and capture photos showing both the bad and the good side of the world.

Kaylee Tokumi
12th Grade
Speciality:  Digital Art

Kaylee Tokumi is a senior in high school who was born and raised on Oahu. She is a third-year certificate student at Mid-Pacific, who specializes in digital art, which includes mainly drawing using Photoshop, and adding details or backgrounds using traditional mediums. Last year, she worked on various projects that involved illustration, such as making a comic and creating mythical creatures. She currently shares a house with her family, two and a half cats and one dog. On her free time, she enjoys collecting inspiration through writing, and nature walks.

This year Kaylee wants to step out of her comfort zone by focusing on creating heavily detailed pieces that use color theory to its advantage. Usually, she draws nature-related pieces, but now she wants to draw more urban or gritty drawings. Although she is not planning on pursuing an art-based career, she hopes to continue creating and learning about art in the future.
